The holiday season is here—what activities do you have planned this time of the year? For many, myself included, one of the cherished traditions is admiring the spectacular holiday light displays with loved ones. Today, I’m thrilled to share a curated list of enchanting holiday light events that promise joy, wonder, and unforgettable moments for all.
First up is the Zoo Lights. Lincoln Park Zoo hosts a fantastic display, and Brookfield Zoo also offers Holiday Magic. Worth noting, Monday nights at Lincoln Park Zoo are free, and they also offer craft activities and photos with Santa. It’s a truly enjoyable event for everyone.

Next, we have the Tree Lights at the Morton Arboretum, where Illumination sells out quickly, so it’s advisable to secure tickets ahead of time. This year introduces the Electric Illumination tailored for adults aged 18 and older, featuring a big dance party, disco, and house music.
Lastly, don’t miss Lightscapes at the Chicago Botanical Garden, transforming the gardens, especially Evening Island, into stunning light shows.
